The Curtain Lifts: A Shift from Air to Water

There’s a kind of pause before this Full Moon lands. The chart is caught at a threshold. Right at the moment of lunation, the Ascendant shifts from Libra to Scorpio. It’s a flicker of time, the moment just before the curtain lifts. Something beautiful and measured is giving way to something deeper and heavier, something more urgent.

And we will all feel that, especially in the houses that libra and aries rule in our charts.

That’s no holiday, that’s a time of re-evaluating what we value, how we connect, and what’s worth keeping.

But now Venus is stationing direct within the hour after this moon peaks! That’s the turning point – a final decision. This is the moment of readiness. She’s no longer trying to negotiate or smooth things over, she’s ready to face what’s real.

And what’s real might not be ideal. That’s the thing about coming out of a Venus-Saturn experience—you’re no longer dreaming, you’re looking at the ground level reality. Saturn brings us to ask ourselves: can this actually support me? Can I build on this? Does this last into the future?

Meanwhile, Mars is rising. He rules the now-Scorpio Ascendant and holds sway over the Midheaven. Even though he is fallen in Cancer, he’s got triplicity dignity, meaning he’s capable and can take action, he can carry out the plan.

Mars is stepping into a situation that Venus has been struggling with, and strangely, he’s not here to dominate—he’s here to help as the trine-by-sign suggests. To do what she can’t do alone, to push the thing forward. The other malefic Saturn, is in agreeance with the plan too. It’s a strange kind of alliance, but a needed one, cooperation is sorely needed right now.

It’s like the chart is saying: this thing has gone on long enough. It’s time to deal with it.

But there’s help. Saturn’s presence in Pisces matters here. In a chart soaked in Pisces influence this is a reminder that you’re not meant to do this entirely alone. Pisces is a communal sign and Saturn here becomes the elder, the counselor, the one who tells you what you didn’t want to hear—but needed to.

This is a Full Moon about seeking counsel. A second opinion, not as a way to outsource your choices, but to help you see what you couldn’t see on your own. It has to be made clear that it is not weakness to ask for help. In our new future, it’s survival. If you don’t ask for help, if you don’t build and rely on your network, you will not make it.

There’s something dreamlike hovering just above the ground right now. An outcome you want or a vision you’ve held onto for a long time. A result that you’ve worked and waited for, and now you’re close to it. So close it might be frustrating! Because it’s not quite landing yet, it’s still materializing in the Lunar Aether, an image or a dream in the sephiroth of Yesod, not quite ready to meet us on Earth.

And the Moon’s light is catching that dream as it forms, it’s saying: yes, it’s near. But one more adjustment is needed, one final act of precision, one last round of editing before the dream hits the earth.

And maybe that’s what’s so uncomfortable about this, because it’s not necessarily a big dramatic moment. Instead, it’s the tedium of the last mile. The small but critical thing you’ve avoided because you hoped you could skip it. But it turns out, that’s the thing that matters now.

There’s a collective dimension to this moon, too. A wider story.

The Sun is exalted in Aries and rules the Midheaven—our collective direction, leadership, public life. But it’s buried in the 6th house, an unfortunate place in the chart. That’s where we deal with systems breaking down, overwork, illness, and small repetitive struggles, not to mention slavery and marginalized people in the traditional texts.

And this 6th house influence shows.

This lunation casts light on something we all feel: the crisis of leadership. Not just bad choices, but the deeper truth that we don’t really have leaders anymore, there’s almost no one to rally around. No one pointing toward the future in a way that feels true.

It’s become increasingly undeniable that we’re ruled by empty suits, by salesmen falsely pretending to have any values beyond this quarter’s profits, emphasized of course by the Moon’s presence in the sign of the Scales. That’s the shadow side of this axis- The side that promises fairness and gives us nihilism. That uses charm as a mask for destruction.

And the Libra full moon catches it all, April 2025 is a moment where she shows the cracks. The rot. The absurdity of waiting for someone to save us when the whole system’s running on fumes.

So maybe that’s the point, maybe this moment is where we remember: no one is coming. And that’s not despair!!! That’s clarity. The kind that can lead to some forward progress finally taking place.

We’re being asked to take leadership of our own lives, to become more responsible. More aware and mature, wiser and more compassionate, without losing our ability to protect others and ourselves. To make the decisions we’ve been waiting for someone else to make for us.

The question isn’t “what do I need to sacrifice for?” The question is, where have I been led wrong? And what am I going to do about it? Where have I handed the reins to someone who didn’t know what they were doing? And what would it look like to take them back?

That doesn’t mean moving fast. It doesn’t mean grinding yourself into action. That’s the lack of listening and discerning that’s led us here. No, It means being willing to see clearly, to tell the truth, and to choose—one small, solid step at a time.

This Full Moon doesn’t want perfection. It wants presence. A willingness to meet what’s here and to acknowledge life on the ground floor. To say yes to the real.
